This article in the Chronicle certainly sparked a debate. But MOOCs lower costs and their educational outcomes are getting better and better. This freight train needs to be embraced, not categorically rejected. The same was said at the CASE Summit - take a class and see for yourself. 2-Year colleges should start positioning themselves to market online continuing ed classes to their customer base by establishing alumni networks now. The payoffs in terms of advancement will be handsome if those communities are well-cultivated over the next couple of years.
