Set notification defaults before you import profiles into your 360Alumni alumni engagement CRM. These defaults are applied to imported records and activated profiles, helping you start with consistent communication preferences across your alumni database.
If you are preloading alumni so they can activate their profiles later, decide which notifications should be enabled by default before you import data. This is especially important for Email Marketing, Events, Opportunities, and Asks & Offers notifications.
When a user activates their profile, the defaults designated for active users are applied. Users can update their own notification preferences at any time.
You can update the defaults for new records whenever needed.
If you choose Existing and future records, 360Alumni updates data across your community. This process can take time, and a progress monitor will show the update status.
Use caution: Updating notification defaults for existing active users can overwrite preferences that users have selected for themselves. Choose the future-records option when you do not want to change current user preferences.
This setting controls whether a user is subscribed to receive campaigns sent through 360Alumni's Email Marketing. Turn it on if you want imported users to be opted in by default to receive community communications.
When someone sends a direct message through the message center (envelope icon in top right of page), users who are subscribed receive an email letting them know they have a new message.
Users who opt out of these emails can read their messages in the message center the next time they log in.
This setting notifies users about newly published in-person and hybrid Events within their selected distance range.
When notifications are sent, 360Alumni compares the event location with the addresses on the user's profile. If the event is within the user's preferred range, they receive an email notification. This keeps notifications relevant and can help support local alumni event management and chapter activity.
This setting notifies subscribed users when a new online or hybrid Event is published. Location and distance preferences do not limit these notifications.
This setting notifies users about new Opportunities posted on the job board.
For location-based Opportunities, 360Alumni compares the Opportunity location with the user's profile address and selected distance range. Remote Opportunities are sent to all users who are subscribed to Opportunity notifications, regardless of distance.
This setting notifies subscribed users when you publish a new homepage headline. Use headlines to share important news and direct users to relevant community content.
This setting makes users follow the homepage discussion board by default. Users receive an email when a new post is added.
Users can unfollow the homepage discussion board or unfollow individual posts that do not interest them.
This setting notifies users about every new Ask or Offer posted in the community. Asks & Offers can support mentoring, career connections, and peer-to-peer help.
Users can unfollow individual Asks & Offers or unfollow the feature entirely if they no longer want these notifications.
