Transitioning from Emma to 360Alumni Email Marketing

As part of the 360Alumni Monarch upgrade, we are transitioning clients from Emma to the built-in 360Alumni Email Marketing system. Our agency agreement with Emma will end on September 30, 2026.

Please refer to the July 2026 email for details, and review the FAQs below for information about migrating contacts and lists, available features, campaign history and the transition process.

FAQs

1. I have contacts in Emma that are not in 360Alumni. How can I continue emailing them?

You can import new contacts and update existing contacts in 360Alumni using our import tool.

Export your contacts from Emma, then import them into 360Alumni along with any relevant custom fields or list tags. You can then create static or dynamic lists for email campaigns.

360Alumni will not automatically import contacts or lists from Emma as part of this transition. Each client should determine which contacts to import and which lists to recreate.

New contacts may be imported as Guest users or Full Access users.

2. Will I be charged for email contacts that do not need full community access?

No. Clients may import contacts as Guest users without increasing the number of Full Access members included in their plan.

Your subscription tier is based on Full Access members, not Guest users.

3. Does 360Alumni Email Marketing provide the same reporting metrics as Emma?

360Alumni tracks delivery, opens, clicks and bounced email addresses. These metrics are available as both totals and rates.

Machine-activity reporting is planned for this fall.

4. Can we create and reuse email templates?

Any draft or previously sent email campaign can be duplicated and used as the starting point for a new campaign.

We do not currently offer a separate shared-template library.

5. Can administrators import a CSV directly into an email campaign?

Not directly. New contacts should first be imported into 360Alumni. During import, the system identifies email addresses that already exist so duplicate records can be removed from the CSV.

Existing users can be updated separately to add an admin-only field or tag that can then be used to create a campaign list.

6. Does 360Alumni support segmentation like Emma?

Yes. You can create static or dynamic lists using profile fields and a wide range of filtering operators.

Dynamic lists update automatically as profile information changes.

7. What Emma features are not yet available in 360Alumni?

360Alumni does not currently offer:

  • Scheduled email sends
  • Shared campaign templates
  • Automated journeys
  • Email marketing landing pages
  • Roll-up campaign metrics across a selected date range

We plan to continue expanding Email Marketing based on client needs and demand.
