360Alumni Blueprint for Success™

Congratulations on taking the next step to bring your community together online. The 360Alumni Blueprint for Success™ gives you a practical plan for building a connected, active community with guidance from your Client Success team at every stage.

How the 360 Method™ works

The 360 Method™ brings together three essential parts of a successful online community:

  • Your 360Alumni alumni engagement CRM
  • Your community and internal team
  • Your 360Alumni Client Success team

Your Client Success team takes an active role in developing your plan. They will share proven practices, help you make decisions that fit your community, and support you through onboarding, launch planning, and ongoing growth.

The Blueprint for Success addresses the main areas of community engagement, including:

  • Affinity Groups and chapter engagement
  • Alumni event management
  • Career strategy and development, including Opportunities and Asks & Offers
  • Fundraising and Campaigns
  • Communications through Email Marketing, news, and messaging

Use this guide during onboarding and launch planning meetings, and return to it when a new administrator joins your team or you are refreshing your community strategy.

The three phases

Phase I: Strategy and set-up

Phase I works alongside your onboarding process. Your Client Success Manager will review much of this material with you and may ask you to complete action items before each onboarding meeting.

Use Phase I to define your goals, align stakeholders, configure your community, and prepare your alumni database management approach before launch.

  1. Read An Introduction to Your Community Platform.
  2. Create your goals with Creating a Strategic Plan for Your Alumni Community.
  3. Build internal support with Engaging Stakeholders When Launching an Alumni Community.
  4. Prepare your settings with Setting Up Your Community and How to Customize Your Online Community Site.
  5. Plan your data import with Importing Your User Data.
  6. Complete Phase 1 Action Items.

Phase II: Launch

Phase II begins after onboarding is complete. Your internal team leads launch preparation, with your Client Success team available for support as needed.

Use this phase to make your community useful from day one. Add content, prepare communications, invite early adopters, and give members clear reasons to join and participate.

  1. Start with Getting Ready for a Successful Community Launch.
  2. Add useful information and activity using How to Populate Your Platform with Content.
  3. Plan launch announcements with Creating a Communications Plan for Marketing Your Online Community.
  4. Invite a core group of members using How to Engage Early Adopters.

Phase III: Sustain and grow engagement

After launch, focus on maintaining a community that members return to. Review what is working, listen to member feedback, and use engagement data to improve your plan over time.

Your Client Success team can help you identify practical next steps, such as expanding Groups, scheduling Events, sharing Opportunities, supporting Asks & Offers, or creating targeted Email Marketing for different member audiences. Revisit your strategy regularly as your goals, staff, and community needs change.

Get support throughout the process

Bring your questions, goals, and action items to your onboarding and launch planning meetings. Your Client Success team will help you turn the Blueprint for Success into a plan that reflects your organization and supports long-term member engagement.
